[PD] Serial Object Help

Hello all,

Is the [serial] object (for NT only) in use by anyone?  I can't find any documentation about this object at all.  Can anybody help me understand even the INLET?  I know there is an external object called [ComPort] but I'm concerned mainly with [serial] -- I'd like as much information about this object as possible.

Any help would be appreciated.
