[PD] chaos / freeverb problem

i've got a problem loading these two externals:

/audio/pd/externs/freeverb: can't load library

\audio\pd\externs\chaos.dll: couldn't load
/audio/pd/externs/chaos: can't load library
and i am recieving a message box that chaos.dll is no valid windows
file

i am running pd 0.35 on a windows xp sp1 machine and a sb live with kX
audio driver.
i am using freeverb version 0.2c and the chaos external from the cvs
external repository.

does anyone have an idea why these externals won't load?
