[PD] errors compiling Gem

i am taking a crack at Gem since i am now studying VRML/OpenGL
I have been successfully using Wings with SGI Performer but a clean Gem 
Install still eludes me
I am also able to use the .rpm for Planet ccrma but it seg faults on me lots

any tips would be appreciated this is my error building from source
