PD uses ALSA, OSS or JACK for sound IO. Have a look at the soundcard
matrix at http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-doc/ ...
The Midiman DELTA serie may be interesting if you don't care about ADAT
connections, or using a laptop. But I haven't used anything besides the
RME Multiface on linux.
