[PD] GEM: help with alpha settings

I have a patch where i have an .avi running and then,
on top of that, i have a small pic that hides the
center of the .avi. I want to fade the pic until it
gets invisible with a slider or something. The problem
is that i all i can do is to fade it to black. When
it's completly faded i get a black area instead of the
pic. What i wanted to do is to fade it until it get's
invisible, so i can see the portion of the video
running. In the pix_alpha object i set the high
threshold to 111 and then i change the pass value
between 0 and 1. How can i get the image to be
gradually invisible?
