If we start making releases and tagging them in CVS, then its ok that
things don't always work in the main branch, as long as they compile. I
think the code in any CVS should be considered under development. The
releases are for the stable code. If necessary, we could have an experimental branch for
things that are really experimental and likely to break things.
Quoting Eric Raymond "Release early and release often", I think its time to
start making releases.
