[PD] pdp_text

hi,
i'm trying PiDiP's pdp_text object from version 0.10.1 - pidip loads 
with this message:

pdp_text: version 0.1 : text rendering object written by ydegoyon at free.fr
pdp_text : severe error : could not load default font : no rendering !!!

pdp_text responds to the font message this way:

pdp_text : could not load font : >helmetr/14<
pdp_text : could not load font : >helmetr/5<

i have imlib2 from .rpms:
[root at blini bin]# rpm -qa |grep imlib2
imlib2-devel-1.0.6-1
imlib2-1.0.6-1

what do i need to do to get this object to work?
oh yes: i'm on linux obviously, RH7.2 w/ some updates.
