[PD] Was: compilation is: tk 8.3

Hi all,

Some of you may recall I had some trouble getting PD to compile (those
of you who took the time to look over my config.log and make output, 
thanks! ) on a new Slackware 9.0 install.

Thankfully, the problem is finally resolved. What I've found is that
PD does not like the latest Tcl/Tk (8.4.2). If your distro comes with
this version of Tcl/Tk (I'd wager most of the new distros do), don't install
the prepackaged Tcl/Tk and instead grab a source copy of the previous
version (8.3.5) and compile it yourself. PD now compiles without a
hitch.

I'm wondering, btw, if this is a known problem and if the PD
programmers are looking into it - anyone know?
