[PD] directories in PD

Hi,
I'm new to PD, but have been doing searches in the repository/mailing list
archive to try to find out this info, with no luck... does anyone know if
there's a command/external that lets me work with directories? the goal
would be some batch/automatic loading of multiple sound files.
