you may consider using ben saylor's susloop~ to control your tabread4~.
i've had good results with it. easy transpose and loop.

you might also consider something xgroove~ or xplay~. i haven't used
them much myself, though.
tabread4~ was super confusing to me at first, if there's interest i can
maybe do a little help patch showing the way i've been using it.
