[PD] is something wrong with [expr] ?

i dont have a pd/linux box to test there this second, but is there 
somehitng changed with [expr] in pd 0.36?  in trying to open 
pd\doc\7.stuff\data-structures\8.beat-patterns.pd i get a whole pile of 
these errors:

error: expr: syntax error
 expr 1 + (($f1 % $f2) == 0)
... couldn't create
beat-maker.pd 8 0 9 0 (pack->text) connection failed
beat-maker.pd 9 0 10 2 (text->pack) connection failed

that looks like it should be correct syntax to me in the expr, what's 
going on?  is anyone else seeing this?
