[PD] video capture

	is there a good way to use pd in conjunction with a windows program? we're 
using portaudio right now for multiple channels of wav input, and then i 
need to be able to process that and synchronize it with live video, and 
pre-recorded video.

           i guess to start out with, what kind of cameras work well for 
live input? are there any high-image-quality webcams that work well? if so 
then i guess i'd need to access the USB port or does GEM do all that for 
me? and is there GEM support for firewire or USB 2.0 video cameras? thanks,
