ok,  now that you say it is possible, i'll dig into it deeper.  

i kept getting compile errors about m_pd.h .  then i'd try to add a
FLEXT_HEADER( )  call just to see what would happen.  this would get rid
of the m_pd.h errors, but gave me other errors. 

readanysf~ is almost ready for a 01 release.  it can already resample
(with varispeed play) using libresample and can play mp3 streams from 
the net.  just needs some more debugging.  any volunteers?
