scratch that.  adding FLEXT_OS=1 to the cygwin makefile is enough.
flext then compiles without a hitch.

i compile flext again with mingw and now i can load my ext and turn on the
dsp.  however, funnythings are happening.  i think it has to with
something other than flext though.
