Is there a word for referring to both inlets and outlets at once,
undifferentiated?

I mean, something like: dataflow objects have "foolets". there are two
kinds of "foolets": inlets, outlets.

replace "foolets" by something that:
  1. sounds better ;-)
  2. is distinctive enough (no conflict with other concepts)
  3. is intuitive (as in: you can deduce its meaning).

(or whatever the best you can do)
