[PD] bug: pd message "selectall" doesn't work when window not visible

Hello all,

          I think I may have mentioned this a long time ago but I've just
come across it again. It seems that the Pd message "selectall" doesn't work
when the window is not visible.

          I guess it sort of makes sense from an editing standpoint. But all
I really want to do is to clear the contents of a subpatch. Can anyone
think of a way of doing this without having to make the subpatch visible? 
(this seems to crash Pd if you use a trigger to queue up a vis 1 followed 
by a selectall)
