[PD] Trivia 1: video controls in GEM

Hallo...
I wouldlike to make a simple installation machine using GEM, as a 
start-up project. What I need is to put two clips on screen at the same 
time, chosen randomly into two different folders. THen I wouldlike to 
vary their speed. Now I wonder, how can I vary the speed of a clip with 
GEM?
There is a tutorial/patch you can point to me to learn these basic 
video manipulation tech?
PS
I use gem on osX and LINUX, and my target installation will be on LINUX
