[PD] mp3amp~, shoutcast~, and the Montreal Pd party

Hi David,

I can only speak for shoutcast~ and shoutamp~.

shoutcast~ works very stable, we have it running here 6 hours every day for a
local radio station (in fact 2 shoutcast~s and one realcast~ on one Windows
machine) without any trouble. 0.3g is the latest version.

shoutamp~ sometimes makes trouble but I'm not shure where this comes from. I
often get error messages from lame that complain about corrupted mp3 data.
version 0.5 is the latest one I have and it stull suffers from this problems.

There is one thing that makes the difference between mp3amp~ and shoutamp~:
mp3amp~ is made for 'fast access' to the stream, i.e. it starts playing quite
fast after you conect. shoutamp~ is made for 'safe playing', i.e. it fills a
buffer and starts playing a bit later but is then capable of surviving bad
network connections.

If you just need audio connection between two Pd's (wihtout any 'other'
(non-Pd) listeners) I would recommend using oggcast~ and oggamp~. oggamp~ works
much more stable / reliable and we used it on a server for weeks.

I could set up a shoutcast~ stream if you need one for testing.
