[PD] a question regarding monophonic note scheduling

I have a little question,

Let's imagine I am playing a monophonic synthesizer. When I hold a low 
note, the low note plays. While still holding the low note, I play a 
high note. The high note plays instead. Now, while still holding the low 
note, I release the high note. The low note is heard once again.

My question being: How would I implement this note-holding in Pd?
