gate itself is not in Pd (probably in the cyclone-lib), but it is easy
to emulate as an abstraction with a handful of "spigot" objects and
"select". For routing lists based on the first element, pd provides
"route" with is like "select", but passes on the remainder of the
list, if a match is found, in the respective outlet and all other
lists in the right-most outlet.
