Your "zigzag.mpg" movie is very small (20K).  Memory size is not the 
problem.  Besides, Linux doesn't work like MacOS 9 where application 
memory is a setting.

Support for xv (overlay) in XFree is not working,  or your graphic card 
doesn't support xv.
