hi,

i'm not sure about the multi-channel audio, but you should have no 
problem with midi or video.  i'm using both on OSX right now for 
performance and installation work.  GEM is great with PD 0.36, but not 
with 0.37.  you'll only be able to play quicktime files though, no 
avi's.

so go ahead and kludge.
