1. what does Pd really stand for?

"Pure Data" AND "Public Domain"

or just "Pure Data" ?


2. what OSs do Pd run on?

all windows, mac OS9.x & mac OSX, most unix and linux, IRIX, and what
else? windows CE, windows pocket or whatever that's called, Palm?
