[PD] parallel port access?

This lib seems similar to the user-space parallel port driver that's in 
the linux kernel (ppdev).  Does it have any relation?   If this kernel 
module provides the same access, it might be the better option since 
its included with linux.  But I'm not trying to throw a wrench in your 
plans :)
