[PD] loading a pd_linux library... isn't working

$pd -lib multi_source_convolution~.pd_linux

snd_pcm_open (input): No such file or directory
snd_pcm_open (output): No such file or directory
Using ALSA interface
multi_source_convolution~.pd_linux: can't load library
audio I/O stuck... closing audio

this happens everytime. it compiles successfully but just won't load the
library. anybody know what's going on?
