[PD] tabread4~ granulator: patch in progress

Frank and everybody,

attached is the full patch, with all subpatches this time ;-).  

all the "problem areas" are documented in the patch. i will give it a nice clean
GUI and post it again when it works according to my expectations.

help and suggestions appreciated. i know there have been a few folks here
looking for a file granulator such as this.
