[PD] gem under os x

download the installer for OS X from sourceforge

http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/pure-data/PureDataInstaller_0.37 
-2003.10.02.dmg?download

install the package

it puts the PD executable in /usr/local/bin/pd

run it, with -lib Gem

and all should work.

you should see something like this from the terminal output. :

./pd -rt -lib gem
