Have you looked at what Krzysztof Czaja  has done with the toxy collection
http://suita.chopin.edu.pl/~czaja/miXed/externs/toxy.html ? Its an external
that allows you to control tk from within a pd patch. Very useful for
building custom GUI stuff.
