You can find a whole family of windowing function Pd objects at

Subject: [PD] FFT analysis window questions

I am currently working on phase vocoders, and I have two questions about the
FFT in Pure Data

(1) When I use a [block~ 4096 8],

* the size of the FFT (~ number of analysis frequency bands) is 4096 and the
overlap is 8
* do the parameters of the [block~] object have an influence on the analysis
window size ? I mean, is it possible to use a window size of 1024 samples
an FFT size of 4096 ?

(2) Blackman / Blackman Exact / Blackman-Harris windows

I would like to use this kind of analysis windows, but I don't even know
mathematical formula ; does anyone know how to implement these under Pure
in the same way as the Hanning window is already implemented in most example
patches ? (or the mathematical formulas at least)

THank you very much

PS : the phase locking vocoder example patch is truly good. Has anyone
it to Max/MSP ?
