[PD] separating pd and wish

Hi List!

I'm just trying to use pd on an osx machine, with the pd-gui running on another
box (Linux).

i use the following command (being on osx):

ssh root at linux.box:/usr/local/lib/pd/pd-gui 5400 linux.box
and i get the following message:

>Application initialization failed: no display name and no $DISPLAY environment
>variable

i guess this is about X forwarding, which i don't want to do, i just want the
gui to pop up on the linux machine plus connecting to the pd task on the osx
box.

think this could also be asked on a linux/ssh-list, but since i don't know any
good ones and don't want to try them all after each other, plus, there are some
real linux freaks on the pd-list, i'd like to ask here for any advice.
