I have for a while tried to find ways to play with Cocoon 
(http://cocoon.apache.org) and PD. Other than a couple of obscure 
things I'm up to, being able to use XPath for key queries would help us 
in using Cocoon to document PD, or it could. Say, with Forrest for 
example. The parent child format for this would indeed be easier for 
XSLT transformations...
