You should remove the backslashes here (I wonder why it even works
with them in).

The syntax is: One command per line, and if you want to split a long
command over two lines, but make it appear to be  on one line, you can
hide the end of line with a backslash. So basically the backslash
glues together two lines, but this is not what you need in your file.
