both is true: [text3d] supports only single lines of planar text.
you cannot use line-wrapping (e.g: use linebreaks) and you cannot wrap
text-around (say) a sphere with a single [text3d].

what do you mean by this ?
you can set the text to be displayed to a one-character symbol. (just "[text a(")
thus you could wrap your text around an arbitrary form, but it is not very
dynamic. (e.g: changing the text on the fly is not very elegant)
