[PD] installation troubles on OS X

hello,

i used Hans's installer to install PD on a 10.3.2 powerbook.
pd works,
however, i can't load any librarys.

i'm using a command line like

/usr/local/bin/pd -rt -lib /usr/local/lib/pd/extra/Gem.pd_darwin

for instance, to load the Gem library and i consistently get

/usr/local/lib/pd/extra/Gem.pd_darwin: can't load library


this happens no matter what library i try to load.  there plenty 
included with Hans's and they all seem to be in

/usr/local/lib/pd/extra/


one note, after the installation i did NOT find the Gem.pd_darwin 
file in there.  so i downloaded and installed that myself.
