make sure, that Gem is loaded, either by adding "-lib Gem" to the 
command-line or by creating an object [Gem] *before* you try to create 
any Gem-object, like [gemwin]

you will know that Gem is loaded when you see something on the console 
like "Gem-0.87 loaded"
