you could have a look at my ParticleChamber abstraction. it's on 
pure-data.org in the community patches section. also look for the 
syncgrain external, by frank barknecht, which should be in the externals 
section of the PD CVS [(?) --otherwise Google...]. mine does 
asynchronous granulation, frank's does synchronous granulation.
