[PD] Newbie Question--writing MIDI with PD

PD listers,
  I've written a instrument that outputs a stream of MIDI data--is there a 
way to capture this data as a MIDI file --either within PD or routing it into 
another application that can transcribe it (such as Finale, Protools, etc)?  I'm 
using windows XP---
