i used guenter's PDa which can be found at http://gige.xdv.org/pd/PDa
to get debian on my system i used a howto like

note that there were some issues with devices on the compactflash (i 
used the SD but it is the same) as the filesystem normally mounts with 
"nodev" flags.
you have to overwrite this in the fstab.
