one of my collegues has recently installed the release-candidate of Gem on his
w2k (or xp? i don't know) machine.
he hasn't much idea of Gem and so on.
he has tested [pix_rtx] (because i asked him to do so) and he did (with homer.avi).
it worked perfect.

so may i ask you:
have you tried the help/pix_rtx.pd eaxmple-patch ?
