[PD] Parsing files w/ PD: How to sort txt data

Hey, I've only got a minute here, so... This should be brief. Is there an 
example out here that inputs a .txt data file into PD and parses it line by 
line, sorting out each string sortof like, sscanf or similar C function?

An example line from the txt file would be:
#comment, etc
my_obj: number, number, number, number, number, etc

or something following a similar format. Post or point to an example if 
you've got it.
