Very first attempts at geting a Phillips webcam working with PDP aren't going so
well yet. OS = Gentoo, 2.6.4-ck kernel.

The cam is using these modules:

bash-2.05b# lsmod
Module                  Size  Used by
<snip>
pwc                    49840  1
videodev                7936  2 pwc
<snip>

bash-2.05b# lsof | grep video
pd        7220 root  mem    CHR       81,0              1315 /dev/v4l/video0
pd        7337 root  mem    CHR       81,0              1315 /dev/v4l/video0
pd        7338 root  mem    CHR       81,0              1315 /dev/v4l/video0

Anybody have some insight into the following error?

pdp_v4l: opening /dev/video0
pdp_v4l: cap: name Philips 740 webcam type 1 channels 1 maxw 352 maxh 288 minw
160 minh 120

pdp_v4l: no device opened
pdp_v4l: attempting auto open
pdp_v4l: opening /dev/video0

Maybe I should recompile PDP with explicit phillips webcam support?

TIA,
d.
