Happy to report that usb-pwcx works on both 2.4.23 and 2.6.4 kernels. 
Had to rmmod pwc and then modprobe [or even insmod --force] the pwcx 
module, but after that, the cam works with PDP.

I get very regular glitches in the video stream, however. I imagine that 
some tweaking of the settings are necessary to get an uninterrupted vid 
stream in PD. Any tips?
