[PD] creating sub patch unique names

Hi,
Im trying to create 25 spheres in a 5 * 5 grid in gem and am quickly 
loosin my mind. Can anyone suggest a way way to do this. Ive attached 
my effort so far. If i could find out how to give each new subpatch i 
create a new name Id be getting somewhere---- I think. Something like 
OBJ 500 200 PD "NEW_PATCH $1". Any ideas anyone on how to glue that 
NEW_PATCH and $1 together.
