[PD] soundfiler mono and stereo files

How can I distinguish a mono sound file from a stereo file with
SOUNDFILER.

I made an abstraction that loads sound files:

- I would like SOUNDFILER to write mono data in 2 arrays as it does with
a stereo sound file. It should automatically play mono samples on both
channels.

Any ideas?
