just a note to say that apart from the bit about limiter~ being good,
the rest of this paragraph is crap. the stuff about comparing signals
makes no sense in this context. i was deluded for a minute into thinking
that limiter~ worked like the "balance" opcode in csound (whoa,
flashback).
