Actually, it's a little simpler than that.  Load the film using 'open 
/path/to/movie' then hit 'ram' at any time to load it into RAM.

Yes, this is just calling a simple QT routine that loads the compressed 
data into RAM.  It's important to note that it does not decompress the 
movie contents, so RAM usage is lower, but CPU time still has to be 
spent to decompress.
