[PD] problem with GEM 0.90 on win2k

    I am using a very similar system, athlon 1.5 + nvideo dx9 win2k.  I
noticed a slow down too, but turning the antivirus software and all other
programs solved it.  One other problem is that if you stop rendering and
there is any change in the gem window inbetween renders then pd crashes.

i have a problem with GEM 0.90 on win2000. gem is loading fine on startup,
no error messages in the console window. the only drawback: everything is
running incredibly slowly (compared with gem0.87+cvs, on the same computer)

specs: amd athlon 1.4 GHz, Geforce2 GTS pro + fresh nvidia drivers
directx 9.0b, all HW acceleration enabled
pd version 0.37-1

on an other machine (p4 2.4GHz, Geforce4, win2k) everything's ok.
