you should check out the archive there was a little
conversation about it a while back, much talk of delay
lines and stuff, vd, tabread, xgroove et cetera, it's
certainly dooable...the stutter effect (aswell as
granular synthesis and the fft) was one of the reasons
i got into the max family of programs although i find
that it is rarely used with any imagination by most
musicians, ultimately most people use these techniques
as effects, whereas i prefer the view that each
"effect" should provide a core ideology to the music
rather than be used as a cherry on the cake or
something...well i dunno that's just what i think...

p.s. my favourite use of a stutter type effect is on
the autechre track gantz graf, has anyone got any
better examples?
