[PD] pd os x loading externals failure

hi,
I was wondering why pd isnt loading all the externals Hans-Christoph 
Steiner includes in his os x installer. using der -verbose flag pd 
gives a really long message of trying to load the externals like this

tried /usr/local/lib/pd/extra/vpicture.pd and failed
tried vst~.pd and failed
tried /usr/local/lib/pd/extra/vst~.pd and failed
tried /usr/local/lib/pd/extra/vst~.pd and failed
tried waveform~.pd and failed
tried /usr/local/lib/pd/extra/waveform~.pd and failed
tried /usr/local/lib/pd/extra/waveform~.pd and failed

does anybody know how to solve the problem, getting pd to load the 
externals.
