[PD] pd 0.37 devel audio in

hey..

i'm testing out the devel branch for 0.37 and have run into a problem.  
  audio in doesn't seem to work at all.  and when i choose more than 2 
in/out channels in the audio settings i get crazy noise.  on the test 
audio/midi patch it shows input when there isn't any (with multiple 
channels only)  has anybody else had a similar experience?

specs:

PD 0.37 devel
OS X 10.3
